As per the title, how long can I expect this particular system to remain relevant for gaming? Things have changed in my life, and upgrades will probably be... well, who knows if I'll ever be able to again. I know the answers will be cloudy as there probably isn't a true answer, but I value the feedback. There's literally no way to know. Assuming CPU power stays near-stagnant as it has been for the last few years, you may need a GPU update to keep settings on high, depending on the resolution you're running. My machine is still very capable and it's... Roughly 5 years old? But it's been the exception, not the rule. I have done 2 GPU updates in that time, though. I typically did a full rebuild every couple years, the gains just haven't been worthwhile for the cost. I'll probably wait out Kaby Lake and do a full build with whatever's next. Zen interests me, but I need to see real world numbers given AMD's lackluster performance in recent years. My philosophy is a platform upgrade every 5-7 years to keep up with new I/O features, and a new video card every 2 years to keep up with new games. So if that were my PC I would say everything but the video card will be relevant for at least 5 years. I try to line up my video card upgrades with NVIDIA's release cycle. Please Help. Thanks ! I didn't find the right solution from the internet. References: hardum.com/thrds/how-longn-i-expect-my-pco-stay-revant.1924519/Business Whiteboard Animation Video
